WildLionHeart : My Etsy Shop Has Launched!

I have slowly been working on an Etsy shop, and now it’s open!

https://www.etsy.com/shop/WildLionHeart

To celebrate, all orders over $20 are 20% off! Shipping within the US is free.

What’s in stock now: Christmas cards with hand-painted gold details, and a growing collection of hand-sculpted animal ornaments.

My shop name is inspired by two of my favorite fantasy series: Narnia and Harry Potter! The animals I sculpt and paint often have roots in these books, as well as myths and legends, and my own imagination.

New Large-Scale Paintings Commisioned

I've just finished three new paintings for Catholic Guardian Services.  They will hang in family visiting rooms in Harlem and the Bronx.  Originally conceived as murals, the paintings are very large (two are 6'x 5', and one is 5'x 4'!)  It was a lot of fun (but also a challenge) to work at this size.  (Special thanks to my sister, Carrie, who helped me transport the canvases!)  I really liked experimenting with plant patterns in the green areas.  Check out some of the details in the  slideshow below!

Somewhere Beneath Book Cover!

Yesterday I got my copy of Somewhere Beneath: A War of Rain Novel by H.W. Vivian!  It's the latest book in her War of Rain young adult series.  I've had the honor to paint the covers for all three books so far.  This one is painted with oils on canvas.  You can follow H.W. Vivian on facebook, and the book is available on Amazon

Haiti Medical Mission

This January, I'll be away from the studio for a week and a half.  I'm joining my sister, Carrie, on a medical mission in Carrefour, Haiti.  I'll be serving as an assistant to the medical staff.

We are serving with an organization called Friar Suppliers, which brings free medical care, food, and supplies to the people of Haiti, and also offers them employment building houses and latrines for their neighbors.  Please keep all of us in your prayers!

If you are able, please consider giving to this cause.  All donations go directly to helping people in Haiti, and are tax deductible. Checks should be made out to "Friar Suppliers", with "Haiti Medical Mission" in the comment line.  Thanks so much!  Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
